Yes, and it stays free. Free is a real plan, not a trial: one list, a small library, every session logged. When you want more room, Basic and Professional are 14 days free to try.
Pick Basic or Professional and use it for 14 days, no card needed. Subscribe to keep it; otherwise you're back on Free. Nothing is deleted: anything over Free's limits turns read-only until you upgrade again.
Any time, in both directions. Downgrading never deletes anything: over-limit lists and items go read-only and come back the moment you do.
Because a year's commitment is worth more on the larger plans, so that is where the bigger discount goes. Switch the toggle to Annual and each card shows its own figure: Basic saves 17%, Professional 23%.
Teacher connections aren't built yet. When they arrive, a teacher will be able to invite you from Basic upwards; Free stays built for practicing on your own.
